Planning for the Future

The Tillamook County Library has undertaken the strategic planning process and we have explored how the library’s facilities, programs and services can best meet the complex post-pandemic needs of our community.  

Our work began in fall 2022 with the library’s annual community survey, which generated 422 responses and the following positive results:

• 91% agreed or strongly agreed that they were satisfied with the services provided by the library.
• 93% agreed or strongly agreed that the library is easy and convenient to use.
• 95% agreed or strongly agreed that the library helps build a better community through learning and knowledge.
• 96% agreed or strongly agreed that the library provides good value to the community. 

From January 2023 through March 2023, the library gathered community input through in-person and online listening sessions and outreach activities.  The library board also dedicated time in winter and spring to explore best practices in librarianship, reviewed demographic data and identified potential challenges and opportunities. 

The result of the strategic planning process is our 2023 - 2027 Strategic Plan.
